Sunday, the first of February, was Ireland’s Saint Brigit’s day and seen by many in Ireland, as the first day of spring. Outside it is cold with wintery showers of hail and sleet, but the sun is shining in between. In the garden, there are signs of life. A beautiful Hellebore I got from my sister, is in flower; daffodils almost ready to open; my Brigid’s cross made from rushes; bluebell shoots from seeds I planted two years ago; hazel catkins opening and elder catkins looking nice again the blue sky.

    So glad to have found your blog! Your pictures are so beautiful. I am particularly envious of your daffodils that are about to open. Mine have only just peeked their way through the cold ground and are a long way from blooming. They always feel like the first herald of spring to me, too.

    your pictures are lovely as usual-neat cross you made….congrats! + you are a home bird-love it-so am I…but I am an old home bird-LOL
    my days of 7 yr olds in large groups is over…but I have my 1 yr old grandson coming tonight for dinner. My oldest daughter is having twins in Stockholm-she lives there with her 2 yr old + Swedish husband-she is due in 4 weeks! I hope, I can get there soon to see them all- the two twins make 4 under 2! Enjoy your time it passes too quickly:-) My baby turned 24 last week:-) Now, I feel old!

      My eldest turned seven last week (but we started late)! It must be so exciting waiting for twins are they often comes early!
