I used to have a bit of a fascination for old abandoned buildings, of which there are quite a few in the rural areas of Ireland. Here an old cottage.
Here an old shed, possibly still used for some sort of agricultural storage.
And another; the door frame remains but there isn’t much left of the building itself.
There is a certainly melancholy about these places, a history lost and forgotten.

Oh those are lovely photos! I share your enchantment with old doors and you captured some amazing ones. How lucky you are to live in such a romantic part of the world. The Irish blood of some of my ancestors must be calling me. đŸ™‚ Thanks for sharing these!

Abandoned buildings always feel a bit sad to me, a reminder that nothing and no one lasts forever. I find myself wishing that those walls could talk!

I love battered and abandoned too. We can do that quite well in the Yorkshire Dales, in among all the barn conversions …

We do. Some are rather fine. Others have given up entirely.

These old, abandoned doors probably have many interesting stories to tell. If I needed to pick a favorite it would be the old shed (second image). I like the horizontal wood or stone slabs, they add a bit of interesting character to the building. Thank you for sharing these!
