Travel has taught me that I am a home-bird! I love new places and exploring but I don’t enjoy the getting there. Mostly I have travelled to study or to start a new job, but since I settled back home I am content to stay put. When we lived in the UK I did spend a couple of long weekends in Devon/Cornwall area.

When I did travel I found that no matter where you went nature’s beauty was everywhere.

In recent years we have travelled frequently to Wales to see my husband’s family. These trips are always made by ferry.

And there is always so much to do and see in Wales; from historical castles to learn about…………………

And gardens to find inspiration.

You have a nice place there ❤️

After many years of not travelling anywhere at all I had a few years of quite extensive travels around the world, but things have changed over the past 5 years and not just because of Covid. I still enjoy exploring new places, but I am very happy to explore closer to home. And you also have a beautiful home.
Is that Laugharne castle I see? And Bodnant?

Beautiful bucolic sights Karina! I’m envious of those castles – we just don’t have those here. It was among my favorite things about Scotland (although there were so many other favorite things) but I’ve never been to Wales. Looks like I need to go!

Your opening description describes me well: “I am a home-bird! I love new places and exploring but I don’t enjoy the getting there.” These pictures show that the effort you made to travel were worth it though 🙂

I enjoyed your images Karina, especially the castle. I can only imagine what it was like living there. I agree, there’s no place like home!

Yes I imagine those old castles were cold places to live but safe!

So many beautiful places on these isles. Since the pandemic, I have been content to stay at home, but I expect the need to explore new places will return soon.
I am missing walking along wide Pembrokeshire beaches.

We usually have beautiful things on our doorsteps but just don’t pay attention to them, though we’ve been forced to in the last couple of years.

Thank you. I am based in Ireland. We don’t have so many castles as England but do have some lovely nature

Sorry I meant Ireland. The castles of Ireland are definitely more dramatic. Stunning!
