Of course it being Halloween I have to start with the pumpkins this week. Not home grown this year, but kids made good job with their carvings all the same.

There is also a full moon tonight. Not the best of photos, but this is it through the trees.
We had some gales earlier with Storm Aiden, leaving most of the remaining leaves on the ground.
However, I did manage to get a photo of the dogwood yesterday before the storm arrived (it is pretty much stripped bare now).
And the field maple, which always goes a lovely yellow shade too.
We have also started feeding the birds again too. Here a blue tit, coal tit and great tit all sharing.
So wishing you all a very Happy All Hallows Eve. And special thanks to The Propagator for hosting six on Saturday.
Striking photo of the dogwood in the late sun. I love the colourful birds on the feeder too, they’ll appreciate your generosity.

Happy Halloween! Covid has put a damper on this year’s festivities, and surprisingly, there are fewer yard decorations. Sad, I miss the parade esp. I love seeing all the wee ones in costume.

Yes here too – we did do a “treat” hunt in the garden to compensate a bit.

Had to bring my feeders inside again as it is too windy, but I do enjoy watching all my winter visitors. No coal tits here though.

That full moon was glorious. The golden tone of your dogwood catches the light just right. And 3 birds feasting are a pleasure to witness.

Love the birds. Always have a problem telling the difference between the coal tit and the great tit. Fancy having all 3 on the feeder – what a coup!

The coal tit is much smaller, probably about half the size of great tit
