This week Amy asks us to share images of negative space in photography. This is a new concept for me, but I like the idea. So here are some shots that I hope fit the challenge.

Well chosen for the week MM – loved the starlings especially. Your image takes the mundane and gives it a very special feel.

Thank you Amy – those trees really did beg to be photographed

Every one of these photographs is delightful and has brought the concept of ‘negative space’ to the fore. The landscape is my favourite, although all of them have provided me with an interesting insight to ‘negative space’ – thank you for that.

I like your selections and the starlings on the fence seem to be talking:
“Did you know we will be in Murtagh’s Meadow post this week?”
“Yeah, that is why i spent time slicking back my feathers a little extra today”
“Great – let’s sit a little longer so they can get some negative space with that sky”

Well I just love your little imagined conversation. Starlings always strike me as the gossipy type:)

Very interesting how negative space can be quite powerful. The birds on the wire is most striking.
