This week’s Lens-artist photo challenge is to look at cropping photographs. I do crop images pretty regularly.
Here are some examples – mostly I just like cropping some of the “noise” from the image, so I can focus on the subject a little more.
Here the cropped images just makes the subjects a little larger, and easier to see.

How clever! They are all good. I do like the middle one with the white tailed bumblebee that isn’t cropped as the colours with the blue sky behind are just beautiful xx

Interesting to see the effects of your techniques. Can see what you mean about removing the ‘noise’ from a picture – immediately effective.

Nice crops! There is hardly a photo I take that isn’t tinkered with in post-processing. I love digital!

With the exception of the final example MM I liked your pre and post crop shots equally, which is great! The last definitely benefitted from you edit. Beautiful images.

Knowing that I can crop later makes photography a more leisurely pursuit – and fun!

I do a lot of cropping with flowers and insects where I can’t get in close in the first place (or have the wrong lens on) but the quality of cropping a larger image can be reduced if you are not careful. OK on a phone but not necessarily on a computer screen. (Yours are all fine btw and I love the bee and blossom 😊)
