It is always nice when a photograph turns out not as one expected. I like the way the flower emerges from the green below. I wouldn’t expect to find celendine flowering till late February. But here it is already showing it’s yellow head at the end of January.
It is an exceptionally early spring here and flowers are already emerging. And despite the fact that a cold week is forecast, much of the winter has been very mild.
A lovely delicate image, we too are seeing flowers that wouldn’t normally yet be in bloom.

The boundaries between seasons seems to be blurring more and more.

A delicate flower – beautifully caught. I guess we will have more unexpected things due to climate changes further on…

I think we will Leya. I just hope we have all time to adapt.

A lovely image, but it does feel unsettling when seasons are ‘unseasonable.’ I always worry about the resilience of plants and animals that depend on them when things are off by a wide degree.

I worry too Eliza at this shift in seasons. It is the unpredicability that I fear will catch us all out, human, plant and animal.

Same worries here. The uncertainty bedevils us.

How lovely! William Wordsworth’s favourite flower 🙂

I did not know that, but can easily see why it would be a favourite.

Beautiful image. We have a similar weather pattern and I’m worried the early buds will suffer

I’ve had celandines for a couple of weeks now, and I still have a geranium flowering away outside. An unbelievable mild winter.

It certainly has – though it looks like a cold week ahead.

Yes it is happening! Celandines, dandelions, daisies, even the odd buttercup I saw the other day, it is amazing what a mild winter is happening. Beautiful photo!

Thank you. I wonder how they will all fair this week as things get colder.
