If a 15 year old understands Climate change why don’t our leaders

I urge all of you to listen to the words of fifteen year old Greta Thunberg from Sweden who spoke so eloquently at the United Nations COP24 conference – you can find an article and video link to her talk here.

She is so right – we the people hold the power and we must make the changes. Greta is inspiring and I only wish our politicians would listen to her wise words. She will be my 2018 hero.

I sometimes think that young people are our only hope. I look forward to the time when young people like Greta can vote and take up the reins as leaders and I hope it won’t be too late.

And what a girl Greta is – most definitely a hero of 2018. Couldn’t stop my eyes watering. Her speech should be the opening of any environmental decision making process. I hope the politicians are shamed into action when they listen to her.

    She speaks such powerful common-sense.
Political leaders are also followers, and their constituents have to show what they’re prepared to do and what they want leaders to do. We must seriously think about what we each can do — in specific terms. It’s a compact with the earth, that each of us signs and revisits at least once a year. Is there such a thing? Our lives are so busy, that many of us need a blueprint for action.

What an excellent idea Cynthia. I think there are many simple things we can all do, that can make a change. Small steps like driving less, using less plastic, being aware of the environment around us.

It is frustrating that some people are still not listening, but I am noticing a bit of a change.
