Raheens Wood – return visit

Raheens wood is a placed I’ve blogged about before. We returned last week. The woodland flora is at it’s very best now. So, as time is not on my side this week, just enjoy the gallery.

Me too Eliza – it is the most wonderful time of the year. Every season has something – but for me Spring is extra special

Those leaves make me think the wood sorrel must be related to oxalis. Is it related to the edible leaf sorrel grown for using in soup? I have that one in my garden, grown from seed a few years back. Lovely tart, bitterish taste.

Wood sorrel is indeed Oxalis acetosella in Latin. But I think the edible leaf sorrel is related to sheep’s sorrel which is Rumex acetosella.
