Frogswell Garden

Our friend Celia, at Frogswell Garden, has the most amazing garden. It’s a woodland garden filled with woodland plants and flowers of all shapes and sizes. At this time of year the hellebores and daffodils are at their best. We visited last Friday and here is to just a small sample of what we saw. Celia is a true plants woman and her love and knowledge of gardening is evident just walking through the grounds with her. I should write more but have decided that a picture paints a thousand words, so enjoy!

Thank you. The Gunnera looks amazing doesn’t it! We’re so used to seeing it with it’s huge leaves opened, I thought it would be interesting to post this picture.

Definitely daffodils. Celia has many heritage varieties. Hellebores are even earlier though will require some shade but perhaps would do against a wall. I’ll ask her for some suggestions.

I’ve plenty of shaded areas so that hellebores sound great. I will look into the heritage daffodils, would be nice to go beyond the yellow standards, which we do have a few of. I don’t want to put any work on you, but do appreciate your efforts, so thank you. 🙂 I saw wallflower in someones garden yesterday, they were nice.

I’ll have to look that one up, color sounds lovely. I have many seeded to add in, same as I did last year. Some perennials, some not. I might buy some in as well…going to mainland next week to have a looksee around.

It’s hard to believe that the fritillaria is real – it is so perfectly shaded. Are they hard to grow, and also, what is the purple-blue flower in the bottom right-hand corner? They’re all spectacular.
